About Us

The Whittier Area Genealogical Society (WAGS) was established on May 16, 1981 and currently has about 100 members.

Regular General Meetings with a guest speaker are held at 1:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month throughout the year and are open to the public.

Effective July 16, 2022, these meetings will be held both on Zoom and at the Sorensen Library Meeting Room, 6934 Broadway Avenue, Whittier, CA 90606.

Our Writer's Group meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month  at 1:00 p.m.  The meeting on the second Wednesday is held virtually on Zoom.  The meeting on the fourth Wednesday is held at the Whittier Uptown Senior Center, 13225 Walnut Street, Whittier, 90602.

We hold our Annual Seminar on the last Saturday in January featuring nationally known speakers.
