WAGS members and the public are invited to attend any of our Life Story Writers Group Meetings. These meetings create supportive spaces for members to share writing about their personal life stories, or those of their family members and ancestors. Attendees are welcome to share their writing or to listen to others for inspiration.

Writing prompts are offered each month to help inspire your writing. The writing prompts are meant to be suggestions only. Members are welcome to share their writing on any topic related to their own lives or the lives of their family members. The current writing prompts are listed below.

Focusing on Your Family Research

• What's the strangest or most unexpected thing you've discovered inn your family tree?
• Are you searching for a long-lost relative?
• Are you trying to finish a branch that seems to drop off a ledge nvever to be found?
• Do you have a family line that remains a brick wall?
  • Can you overcome this hurdle?
• Have you done DNA testing?
  • What companies have you tested with?
  • Have your results varied between the different companies?
  • Are there conflicts?
• Have you found traits, names, or occupations that seem to recur along your family lines?
• Have you expanded your search into:
  • Newspapers?
  • Church records?
  • Cemeteries / obituaries?
  • Immigration records?
  • Marriage / divorce records?
  • Military records?

Focusing on your family tree, write a story about your research, frustrations, and successess, combined with any DNA results that confirmed or challenged your family tree expectations.
