Also note, that those interred at Rose Hills Memorial Park in the Whittier hills may not have been residents of Whittier. Rose Hills Memorial Park is one of the largest cemeteries in the country, and people from all over Southern California are buried there. The Whittier Daily News tends to run obituaries of people who lived in Whittier or were significant to the community in some way. A relative who is at Rose Hills may not have had a connection to Whittier and no obituary would have been published here. In cases such as this, obtain and review the information on the death certificate for clues on where to search.
WAGS Research Policy
We do not research living people, and our research does not extend beyond the Greater Whittier area - generally, the City of Whittier, unincorporated areas of Whitter, and adjoining towns.
We also do not obtain county records that are not available online to the general public. Contact the County Recorder or other county offices directly to order records maintained by Los Angeles County or Orange County.
How to Submit A Research Request
Please be specific in your research request. Include the full name of your ancestor, what information you are looking for, their location, and the time period you are interested in. It is also helpful if you tell us about any research you have already done.

Please note: we will not research a request along the lines of "Please send me all you have on John Smith." This type of request will be returned, asking for more specific information. Consider what you want to know and construct your research question to match.
