After a 10-year search (2014-2024), Gregory Beckmann was able to break down the German wall and locate the hometown from which his family originated in Germany. With this finding, he was able to trace his family back to the 1500s in Germany through church records. He will provide an organized, methodical, and detailed way of breaking down the brick wall.

About Our Speaker

Gregory Beckmann's uncle inspired him to conduct a search in 2014. His father had informed him that they were German, their last name was originally spelled with 2 n's, and their relatives fought in the Civil War for the South. He had a burning desire to learn about his German heritage and locate German relatives living in Germany today.
