WAGS members and the public are invited to attend any of our Life Story Writers Group Meetings. These meetings create supportive spaces for members to share writing about their personal life stories, or those of their family members and ancestors. Attendees are welcome to share their writing or to listen to others for inspiration.
Writing prompts are offered each month to help inspire your writing. The writing prompts are meant to be suggestions only. Members are welcome to share their writing on any topic related to their own lives or the lives of their family members. The July writing prompts are listed below.

Genealogy 101
How did you become interested in genealogy?
- Did you hear stories about ancestors who traveled from the "old country" to America?
- Did you wonder why someone in the family tree was never talked about, or only in hushed tones?
- Did your DNA results spark an interest in finding a connection to a new country of origin?
- Did you want to know more about an ancestor who fought in the American Revolution, Civil War, WWI, or WWII?
In researching your family history, which individual has been your most frustrating brick-wall ancestor?
- Describe how you tackled this obstacle and what conclusions you reached.
- What are your next steps in approaching this dilemma?
- Are there any new resources that you can apply to this brick-wall ancestor?
- How has this search helped you in other areas of your genealogical endeavors?
